Free Windows 8 Mahjong Game App: Mahjong Solitaire
Mahjong Solitaire is a free game app for Windows 8 and 8.1 which has a large number of levels on which you can play Mahjong. When you launch the app, you will be shown a red play button along with other options as well. The Play button when pressed will present you with an interface wherein you can choose the level that you wish to play. Upon choosing the level, you will be taken to the gameplay of the game itself which is in the traditional Mahjong style, wherein you have to click on two similar active tiles to remove them from the board. The game has a timer which ticks away and keeps track of the time in which you remove the tiles from the Mahjong board.

When you install and run the Mahjong Solitaire game app on your Windows 8 or 8.1 device, you will be presented with the main screen of the app itself with options that allow you to start the gameplay of the game, access the levels, settings, editor etc. This can be noticed in the screenshot attached.
When you click on the Play button, you will be taken to the level selection screen as is seen in the screenshot below.
When you click on a particular level, you will be shown the various sub levels under it. You can then click on any of the sub levels to start playing them and to be taken to their respective screen.
When a level is clicked, you will be shown the gameplay screen itself which looks no different from the screenshot below.
In the game, your goal is to match two similar mahjong tiles by clicking on them to make them disappear from the board. When you do so, you get certain points which appear at the bottom of the screen along with the remaining tiles on the board, etc. You can also see the game mode that you are playing at the top center, and can see the timer ticking away at the top left. The game can be paused at any time via the pause button at the bottom center and you can also use the Hint via the bulb button right next to the pause button at the bottom of the screen. When a match is made, the tiles disappear from the screen with a smooth animation (see the screenshot below).
You can launch the control bar of the app during the gameplay mode via a right click. You can see it in the screenshot below.
From the control bar you can choose to access the game’s settings, go back to the main menu, level browser, restart the game etc. This basically concludes the main features of Mahjong Solitaire for Windows 8 and 8.1.
